Manaksia Steels Limited has officially announced a significant capacity expansion project for the production of Cold Rolled Coils at its existing manufacturing unit in Haldia, West Bengal. The expansion will be driven by the introduction of a high-tech “6-Hi Reversible Cold Rolling Mill,” aimed at substantially increasing the plant’s output to meet growing captive and market demands.
The proposed expansion will add 2,50,000 Tonnes per annum to the company’s current capacity of 1,20,000 Tonnes, bringing the total projected capacity to 3,70,000 Tonnes per annum. This project requires an estimated investment of approximately Rs. 100 crores, which the company plans to fund through a combination of debt and internal accruals. The management expects the new capacity to be operational by the fourth quarter of the 2027-28 financial year. Currently, the Haldia unit is operating at a high utilization rate of approximately 82%.
Manaksia Steels Limited is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company primarily engaged in the manufacturing and sale of value-added secondary steel products. Its product portfolio includes Cold Rolled Coils, Galvanized Steel sheets, and Color Coated Steel sheets used extensively in the construction, automotive, and appliance industries. Throughout 2025, the company focused on strengthening its domestic supply chain and exploring export opportunities in international markets to capitalize on the global demand for high-quality processed steel.
For the most recent quarterly financial results announced in 2025, the company demonstrated steady performance, supported by robust demand in the infrastructure sector. While specific revenue figures fluctuate based on raw material costs, the company has maintained a focus on improving margins through higher capacity utilization and cost-efficiency measures. In terms of shareholding, the company remains largely promoter-held, though it attracts interest from domestic retail investors and small-cap focused portfolios due to its niche position in the Bengal industrial belt.
