RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. (the “Company”) has officially received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from the Centre for E-Governance for a significant domestic project. This major order involves the selection of a System Integrator for KSWAN 3.0, marking a critical step in the company’s expansion into high-tech e-governance domains.

The awarded contract for KSWAN 3.0 is a domestic project with a total estimated value of Rs. 444.44 Crores (including taxes). The order, received on March 27, 2026, at 16:00 Hrs, is scheduled for complete execution by March 26, 2031. This project aligns with RailTel’s recent momentum in securing large-scale ICT contracts, such as the Rs. 29.48 Crore SD-WAN project for the Madhya Pradesh police and a Rs. 14.29 Crore smart classroom initiative in Himachal Pradesh.

RailTel is a “Navratna” Central Public Sector Enterprise and one of India’s largest neutral telecom infrastructure providers, owning a pan-India optical fiber network covering over 61,000 route kilometers. Beyond its core mission of modernizing Indian Railways’ communication and safety systems, the company provides broadband (RailWire), VPN, and data center services to a diverse clientele including government ministries, educational institutions, and private enterprises. Recent 2025-2026 updates highlight its pivotal role in national initiatives like PM-WANI and the expansion of its “RailCloud” platform.

In the most recently announced quarterly results (Q3 FY26), RailTel reported a 19% year-on-year (YoY) increase in revenue from operations, reaching Rs. 913.45 Crores. However, net profit for the same period saw a slight YoY decline of 4.07% to Rs. 62.40 Crores, largely attributed to a higher execution mix of low-margin projects. For the nine-month period ending December 2025, the company showed a positive trajectory with revenue growing 20.25% to Rs. 2,608.62 Crores and net profit rising 9.77% to Rs. 204.57 Crores. As of March 2026, the Government of India remains the dominant promoter with a 72.84% stake, while Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) hold approximately 3.68%.
