Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd has announced a significant update regarding its strategic investment in the Australian company, Sicona Battery Technologies Pty Ltd. Following an initial commitment approved by the Board of Directors on May 13, 2025, the company has now completed a further cash investment of AUD 2,559,000 to subscribe to 2,559,000 Compulsorily Convertible Notes (CCNs).
This latest transaction brings the company’s total cumulative holding to 16,753,000 CCNs, each with a face value of AUD 1.00. Having previously invested AUD 14,194,000 for an equal number of notes, the company continues its structured approach to capital deployment in the battery materials sector. A remaining balance of 1,694,000 CCNs is scheduled to be acquired in upcoming, pre-agreed tranches. Notably, because the investment is structured through convertible notes, Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd does not currently hold additional voting rights or direct operational control in Sicona, though these notes are convertible into equity shares based on previously established terms.
